Safe Routes to School (CU-SRTS) is a community based organization with representatives from the CU Mass Transit District, Champaign County Regional Planning Commission, Urbana and Champaign engineering and law enforcement, Urbana and Champaign School Districts, local health agencies, bike clubs and more.

The Prairie Cycle Club (PCC), founded in 1971, is a local not-for-profit group for Champaign and surrounding counties in East Central Illinois which organizes and coordinates bicycle events.
